Generic’s Retail/Financial Division provides an end to end solution to the retail, hospitality and financial sectors. We have the technology and infrastructure, to deliver a single skilled resource to an entire managed outsource. The company can provide people with experience in EPoS, ATM, terminal [POS], field maintenance, desktop, helpdesk, rollouts, service care and disaster recovery throughout the UK and mainland Europe.

Generic has a large core of skilled engineers throughout the UK, with access to additional on-call resources for ad-hoc projects; this allows a local response wherever it’s required. This is backed-up by a 24-hour remote helpdesk, based in Milton Keynes.

EPoS / EftPoS

The company currently provides technical, logistic implementation and support services to a number of retail, hospitality, leisure and solution organisations covering various front and back of house EPoS technologies. This resource is utilised from the initial build and staging through to the safe disposal of old equipment [WEEE compliance] incorporating testing, distribution, site survey and preparation [cabling, WiFi], installation, training and decommissioning.

Terminal PoS

As payment technology advances [Chip & PIN, Contactless, Cashless], Generic maintains a close working relationship with the major terminal manufacturers and solution providers. This allows the technical field service, helpdesk and logistic services to deliver the level of service expected within the financial sector.

ATM

Generic has extensive experience in providing total managed services and field engineering resources to some of Europe’s largest convenience ATM providers and ’Hole-in-the- Wall’ ATM manufacturers. That experience covers the entire lifecycle of an ATM, from commissioning, installation, training and ‘business as usual’, supported by the dedicated team in Milton Keynes.

Project Services

Generic supports entire project lifecycles from conception, feasibility studies, stake holder management and process delivery to project management. The in-depth industry experiences of the management team allows Generic to respond rapidly to customers’ requirements and provide the most appropriate solution. The company uses leading methodologies but will use customers’ choice of technology if preferred.

Field Services

Generic’s skilled and qualified engineers are always available for field maintenance, project rollouts and IMAC’s. If required, the internal technical training team provides additional knowledge to help engineers complete projects. Individual teams complete each project to guarantee a high level of service and consistency. This meets, and in most cases exceeds, clients’ service level agreements.

Logistics and Distribution

Generic uses fully maintained, caged warehousing and forward distribution locations throughout the UK and Ireland to provide a full range of services. In-house, web-based stock management and tracking, helps provide same/next day delivery either by engineer or courier. All deliveries and returns are tracked using fieldbased PDA tools for total stock management. The system also provides MIS reporting for client tracking and KPI monitoring.
